OlyLife P90 vs PEMF Mat: Comparing Everyday Convenience and Flexibility

OlyLife P90 vs PEMF

When comparing the OlyLife P90 with a conventional coil-based PEMF system, there is another consideration beyond the technology itself: how convenient is the equipment to use in everyday life?

I’ve personally used and tested the OlyLife P90, as well as German-made PEMF systems with whole-body mats and smaller applicators.

From a practical point of view, I find there is a substantial difference in flexibility.

Using the OlyLife P90

The OlyLife P90 is designed around two metal footplates. During normal operation, the user sits with their bare feet positioned on these plates.

In my experience with the P90, removing the feet from the plates stops the operating session.

This means your position is largely determined by the equipment. You sit in front of the machine and keep your feet on the footplates for the session.

For some people, that may be perfectly acceptable. But compare that with the flexibility of a PEMF whole-body mat or local pad applicator.

A Whole-Body PEMF Mat Gives You More Choices

A conventional PEMF mat doesn’t depend upon your bare feet maintaining contact with metal plates.

The PEMF systems we use at PEMF.inc employ applicators designed to generate a pulsing magnetic field. This allows the applicator to be used in many different positions.

A whole-body PEMF mat can be placed on a:

  • Bed
  • Massage table
  • Lounge or couch
  • Floor
  • Reclining chair

You can lie down and relax, read, listen to music or watch television while using the mat.

Depending on the activity and equipment setup, a mat can also provide a convenient surface for gentle stretching or yoga-style movements.

This versatility can make it much easier to incorporate PEMF into your normal routine.

Smaller PEMF Applicators Add Even More Flexibility

You don’t necessarily need to use a whole-body mat.

A larger local PEMF pad or flexible applicator can be positioned in different areas depending upon the applicator design.

For example, you may be able to position an applicator:

under your feet, across your knees, behind your back, beside an area of the body, or while sitting comfortably in a chair.

The important difference is that a coil-based PEMF applicator does not generally require your bare skin to act as an electrical contact point with a metal plate.

The pulsing magnetic field is generated by the applicator itself.

You Can Move Away and Come Back

This is one of the practical differences I noticed when comparing the technologies.

With the OlyLife P90, removing your feet from the footplates interrupts the session.

With a PEMF mat, you aren’t required to maintain electrical contact with the applicator for it to continue generating its programmed magnetic field.

If you need to get up briefly and then return to your mat, the technology isn’t dependent upon your feet remaining on two metal contact plates.

For everyday home use, I consider this a significant convenience advantage.

PEMF Can Fit Around Your Lifestyle

I’ve used PEMF equipment for many years, and one of the things I value is being able to integrate it into everyday activities rather than having to organise my activities around the machine.

I can use a whole-body mat while relaxing at home. A mat can be placed on a bed or massage table. Smaller applicators can be positioned while sitting.

I have personally also used a suitable PEMF applicator while travelling in a car. For safety, PEMF equipment should never be positioned or adjusted while driving, and any use must not interfere with vehicle controls, seat belts, airbags, attention or safe driving.

The point is that PEMF applicators can offer considerable flexibility in where and how they are used.

Convenience Matters When Choosing a PEMF Machine

When people research a PEMF machine, they understandably concentrate on specifications such as frequencies, intensity, waveforms and applicator technology.

But I recommend asking another simple question:

“How easily will I actually be able to use this machine in my everyday life?”

A sophisticated machine isn’t particularly convenient if its design means you rarely want to use it.

For home users, therapists and wellness professionals, flexibility can be particularly valuable.

A therapist may want a whole-body mat on a massage table. A home user may prefer using one on a bed or couch. Someone else may prefer a smaller applicator that can be positioned around different parts of the body.

Having different applicator options gives the user choices.

OlyLife P90 vs PEMF Mat: My Preference

I’ve personally tested both approaches.

The OlyLife P90 requires the user to interact with its metal footplates during operation. In my testing, removing my feet from those plates caused the unit to stop.

By comparison, the German-made coil-based PEMF systems I use provide whole-body mats and smaller applicators that can be incorporated into many different environments and positions.

For me, the PEMF mat and pad approach is considerably more convenient and versatile for everyday use.

This article is specifically about convenience and usability. It isn’t claiming that convenience alone establishes whether one technology provides better health outcomes than another.
